A dichotomy of vision

Hope Springs Eternal (100 word writing challenge)

The barren landscape along old Route 66 in New Mexico is constant. “Hope Springs Community Church,” the billboard read, and immediately after that, another “Eternal Hot Springs, come take a dip.” Suddenly, fresh blacktop and bright new yellow lines. Lush grass, colorful flower beds, and trees. On the right a beautiful church and large golden cross, a bake sale, children playing, and a choir singing. On the left a spread of small villas with open pools of steaming water and a beautiful scantily clad lady or man next to each, and a bar-n-grill. Same words, just different styles.
