All he wanted was bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. The power was out for weeks before the temperature dropped drastically so he didn’t suspect anything in the grocery store and restaurants would be good. Anyway, the shelves at the stores were empty and no one was at the restaurants to fix him something. He started to get frightened. Without the internet, how would anyone know how to cure bacon. Where would he find a pig, chicken for eggs, or a dang cow for milk to make into cheese? He started crying. After a bit, he took a deep breath, shook his head, stood, crossed the room to the bar, poured himself some whisky, took out a cigar, lit it, and flipped the magazine on the counter to the centerfold, and started reading the statistics.
“Now, if only there was some bread to make toast and some fricken butter.” He said out loud to the empty space around him.
